About Me
Scott Garrett represents New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District. He first won election to that office in November 2002. Scott’s agenda of tax relief and serious budget reform; strong homeland security that puts the greatest resources where there is greatest risk; and open space preservation that protects New Jersey’s natural treasures win him support on the campaign trail. As a member of the House Committee on the Budget, he works to instill real budget process reforms to improve accountability and restrain Federal spending. Scott has been a stalwart supporter of the line-item veto, to help slice pork out of Federal spending bills. He has also been leading the charge for earmark reform so that all projects have to withstand public scrutiny and Congressional debate before they get Federal funding.
